Using RadioRipper
Please note that the program window seen in these screenshots is resized for the purproses of this tutorial. When you first run RadioRipper this is the screen that you will see. You should notice three menu items (File, Radio and Help) and an Address bar.

For those of you who know a SHOUTcast server address off of the top of your head you may simply enter it into the Address bar like I have here, then press Enter.

If you do not know of any SHOUTcast servers, or would like to see what else is out there, simply click on the Radio menu item and then click on "SHOUTcast Radio Station Guide..." to launch the SHOUTcast website. Once the web site loads, all you need to do is click on the yellow "Tune In!" icon that is to the left of every station. RadioRipper associates itself with *.pls files, which are links to SHOUTcast streams. They will open automatically in RadioRipper.

One you have entered a SHOUTcast server in the Address bar, or clicked on a link in your web browser pointing to one, you will see the station appear in the queue. You will see columns of information containing the Station (which also contains a stop/record button) that you are connected to, the current Track playing, the Bitrate of the track and the Status, which usually indicates how many KB of the track have been downloaded so far.

As you can see, RadioRipper has connected to this stream and is downloading the current track.

In order to stop recording a stream click on the blue square once. RadioRipper will disconnect from the server and the blue square will change to a red circle. Simply click on the red circle once to reconnect to that server and begin recording again.

You may connect to as many SHOUTcast servers as you wish. Each one will appear below the last one in the list.

Clicking on one of the lines will highlight it. You may double-click a Station name to open the local folder on your hard drive where the Tracks for that Station are currently being stored. Double-clicking on the Track name will open the current Track in your default MP3 player so that you can listen to it immediately. You can also highlight a row and press the Delete key to remove the Station from the queue.
